Rustic style – timeless and warm
Rustic or country style is the style of traditional houses that looks honest, warm and cozy. The word rustic comes from the Latin rusticus and means “everything associated with country life”.
Does that mean we can only use rustic decor in country homes? Not necessarily. You can also design an urban townhouse with a rustic decor – but it must be a house with classic, traditional architecture. Also, rustic style can be used in small doses – you don’t have to use it throughout the house. For example, a rustic kitchen can fit very well in a classic house.
Wood, usually pine, in dark tones or scuffed, is very present in rustic decoration – but always without brightness. In this style you can also find iron fittings, terracotta tiles and a lot of porcelain. To complement the rustic style, we have chosen wicker pots, milk jugs, linen pillows and dried flowers.
The Provençal style is derived from the rustic style, with some references to the French style: many fabrics with paisley patterns and lavender.
All in all, the rustic decor is a strict, unpretentious decoration, full of wisdom and good taste.
Silestone rustic kitchen
Perhaps the room in the house that has the most potential to create a rustic style is the kitchen – whether you live in the country or in the city. Pair your wood cabinetry with a good silestone countertop with an ivory, earthy or red finish. Our choice for rustic decor in your kitchen is Silestone Et Marfil from the Eternal Collection, and Royal Reef and Rougui, both from the Basiq Collection. Complement your countertop with a good XXL stone sink, wicker baskets and brass lamps, and the rustic effect is guaranteed.
A bathroom with rustic charm
Another room where rustic decoration can be used in small quantities is the bathroom. You’ll love Silestone’s Eternal Collection for your bathroom’s wall and floor coverings, especially the Pearl Jasmine color. Opt for a classic bath with legs and look for a solid surface countertop with a built-in sink. Our choices are the Reflection and Symmetry sinks, which can be adjusted to any desired length.
With Silestone, you can also design your shower tray just like the flooring and tiles of your bathroom in a rustic style. You can choose from up to six different models in all Silestone colors.

Dekton and the rustic style
Although Dekton is a cutting-edge technology designed for the latest architecture, there are also versions that allow you to recreate a rustic decorative style. If your goal is to choose a beautiful beige color for your floor and walls, we recommend Dekton Danae and Dekton Edora from the Natural Collection. If your furniture is neutral and made of striped wood, try a 100% recycled Dekton Trilium countertop in a volcano look.
If you’re looking for a material that mimics wood for a totally rustic look, choose one of the surfaces from the Wild Collection. We love the striped hue of Makai DecapĂ© and the worn oak look of Aldem.
